Filtering the Question List

The Questions page provides for many ways of filtering the list of questions shown, to make it easier to find the desired question among the thousands of questions in the InsightStore™. When a filter is applied, the question list changes to show only questions that match that filter.

The InsightStore™ remembers filter selections. When a user navigates away from the Questions page and later comes back, the same filters will still apply. To see the full list of questions again, users should clear the filters that have been selected.

Filters are cumulative, which means that when many filters are selected, all of the selected filters apply. If the filtering results in no questions to be shown, the question list will display a warning message indicating that.

Differences between Data and Publisher filters

There are ten types of filters. Data Customers don’t have access to the Target and Feed filters. The filters are as follows.

Question Type filter

The question type filter is different for Publishers and Data Customers.

For Publishers, the question type filter allows to select between Engagement (E), Value (V), Profile (P) or All questions. Making either of this selections will make the question list only show questions of the selected type. The type of a question is set when the question is created, and can be seen in the Settings page for that question.

For Data Customers, the question type filter allows to select between Custom, Syndicated, or All questions. Making either of this selections will make the question list only show questions of the selected type.

Favorites Only filter

The Favorites Only filter allows for showing only questions that have been marked Favorite by the user. Favorite is a per user selection.

My Account Only filter

The My Account Only filter, when selected, will cause the question list to show only questions that were created by members of the same account as the current user. When it is not applied, all questions are shown, including questions that were created by CivicScience, for instance.

Currently Live filter

The Current Live filter, when applied, will show only questions that are currently being asked.

Adequate Responses filter

The Current Live filter, when applied, will show only questions that have at least one thousand responses.

Launched After filter

The Launched After filter, when applied, will show only questions that have been launched after the selected date.

Notice that this date refers to the date the question was launched, not the date in which responses were collected. In most cases, questions will have responses on the same day they are launched, but depending on prioritization or other factors, sometimes questions don’t have responses immediately.

Completed Before filter

The Completed Before filter, when applied, will show only questions that have been completed by the selected date.

Specific Target filter

The Specific Target filter will show only questions that have been or are being asked in the selected target.

This filter is only available for Publishers.

Specific Feed filter

The Specific Feed filter will show only questions that have been or are being asked in the selected feed.

This filter is only available for Publishers.
