Networks in IS1

Networks represent all the different ways an organization may want to aggregate data. Large media companies typically put all of their properties into a single network for reporting purposes, then create smaller geographic or topical networks for content sharing. Our example, Major Media, would have its overall network containing all its newspapers and television stations. Then, there would also be a network for each entity. Another network might represent all the properties in a particular DMA. All the targets in the sports or weather sections could also be brought together in a network.
